Ethnic Ornament that hits a home run

I am reviewing the Vlasic Pickles Hanging Ornament. This is a small plastic Christmas tree ornament. It comes with a string to hang it on a tree. It looks exactly like a small jar of pickles that you buy in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. What a great ornament idea! There is a myth, legend, or something associated with a pickle ornament on the German Christmas tree or the Former Soviet Union New Year's tree. My wife is Russian and she thinks this is so fun. It takes the idea of a glass pickle ornament to the next level, or to the American level showing a jar of pickles. Apparently according to the tradition, an ornamental pickle is placed on a Christmas tree as one of the Christmas decorations. On Christmas morning, the first person to find the pickle on the tree would receive an extra present from Santa Claus or would be said to have a year of good fortune. What a fun little game. My wife got a glass pickle ornament several years ago and has been encouraging our daughters to find the pickle and get an extra present. I am not sure what the finder of a JAR of pickles will earn from the hunt. But I am happy and pleased to get this nice little decoration for our tree.

Ordered this for my granddaughter, she loves pickles. I’m sure she’ll love it. Only thing is I was sent 2 of them, not sure if I messed up and actually ordered both, are they sent me 2 by accident, if that’s the case they can text me and I’ll send 1 back.

So cute!

How cute is this little ornament. I’m obsessed with these little mini classic brands ornaments. I grew up in the 70s and 80s And love all of these classic brands. In our household, there was no other pickle than Vlassic. I love the commercials and the pickles. This ornament looks like a glass ornament, but it is made out of a very shiny plastic material. High-quality looking. But you don’t have to worry about it breaking. The detail is amazing. You can see the little pickles inside the jar so fun. I can’t wait to collect some more of these different ornaments. I will be giving these to my siblings for Christmas.
