Violife Just like Sour Cream, Dairy-Free Vegan, 8.46 oz Tub (Refrigerated)

I admit that I was dubious the first time I bought this. I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years, but only gave up dairy to become 100% vegan about 5 years ago. Dairy was the hardest thing for me because I absolutely LOVE cheese and other dairy products like cream, sour cream and yogurt. So ... on my quest to find decent substitutes, I have not only tried pretty much every major (and some obscure) vegan-dairy brands, but even spent months doing "kitchen chemistry" to try making my own versions. Some were okay, but none--whether cheeses, cream or milk--were true substitutes. They all lack some essential something that dairy has. Then I happened across this Violife sour cream substitute. I am in love. It has all the texture and taste of the real thing. No, it is not perfect, but it is the closest thing to real dairy I have come across yet. This stuff is great in dips, salad dressings, as topping over vegan tacos or chili--pretty much whatever you would use real sour cream for. I LOVE IT!!! I definitely recommend this and the Violife vegan cream cheese. If you have been craving dairy, these will definitely go a long way toward satisfying that need.

One of the very few non-dairy items which is actually really excellent! I've used this in dips, soups and stews, kind of stroganoff sort of things. My wife is dairy-free but I can eat pretty much anything and this is one of them which is an absolute go-to milder tasting than regular sour cream
