Vibrant Life Large Crock Dog Bowl, Black

This is a great water dish for my boxer. It holds a lot and it doesn't tip. I don't use it for her food anymore. She likes the type of bowl that is sloped instead of angled for her food. For a dog that tends to eat too fast and swallows a lot of air, this bowl will help to slow down your pup's eating to a healthier pace. I don't worry about that with my boxer because I feed her twice daily instead of 1 big meal. It's safer for a deep chested breed like boxers, because it helps prevent their tummy from twisting should they eat too fast and get too rambunctious too soon after eating.

This worked out far better than I had hoped. I needed a black bowl that would absorb heat during the day so a feral cat, and any other animals, would have less winter icing to deal with. And a bowl that was hard to turn over. I placed it out of the wind and where it would get full sun. Mulched around it for insulation. Then, even when temps dipped into the teens, it never froze solid. Most cold days I have to remove a thin layer of ice off the top. And even then, the outer edge is ice free and drinkable. And compared to other plastic bowls I looked at, this, especially as thick and deep as this bowl is, it is very reasonably priced. I would, and have, buy it again. (This time for the birds.)
