This grey mat is soft and our medium sized, but overweight dog likes it. BTW, I'm not the one who overfeeds her. She is elderly and has very short legs, but this mat is easy for her to step up on. It is machine washable and has a low profile, which I like because it blends in with our carpet. It actually has a plush side for cold weather and a more silky side for hot weather. I think she could have used the next larger size because she stretches out like a pot bellied pig, lol, but she manages ok with her head resting on the puffy pillow edge. We are pleased.

Our 2 (brother and sister American Bulldog)r 3-month-old pups were comfortable on it right away. it lays flat much better and is cooler than the first one I bought which they could ball up in no time. I've only had to wash it once. I used warm water and air dried just to be sure it would be fine and it turned out perfect. Cushy edges, not super cushy on bottom but they like it. Happy pups, happy me.
