It's simple. Has safety feature that was important to me. The blades aren't able to be activated unless they are secured inside the drink container and pushed down in place on the blender base. I, also, like that it has 4 suction cups on the bottom of the blender base so it's steady when in use. It's not a heavy duty blender. It's just right for me. I, also, use it to make my own vinaigrette salad dressings.
