Not only for the classroom

The Bostitch QuietSharp 6 Electric Pencil Sharpener is a classroom sharpener, but I use it at home and it is great. It has a one-hand easy turn selector dial with 6 sizes to choose from. The QuietSharp motor is very quiet and it sharpens very fast. The Tip Saver Technology stops sharpening at just the right time no matter what type of pencil is being sharpened. The shavings tray is very generously sized. The base is oversized and has suction cup feet for stability. There is a 6 foot power cord so placement should not be an issue either. The MagnaSafe safety switch stops the motor when the shavings tray is removed. We have really been putting this pencil sharpener through the paces, with two school age children and two adults who always use pencil, it is used very frequently. It seems to be very sturdy and able to hold up to rigorous use. We have had to empty the shavings tray once already and it was very easy to remove and clean out. The safety switch allows me to have the kids do it without worrying about them hurting themselves. I would recommend this for any household, not only a classroom. Especially if your family uses a variety of different pencils.

pencil sharpener

This pencil sharpener is very good quality. My son is in elementary school and they still require all work to be completed in pencil. He can use it himself with no problems. It's not very quiet, but it is quitter than other pencils sharpeners I've used in the past. My son likes that it is blue, the color is attractive. It definitely gets the job done, and sharpens the pencils without an issue. The cord is long enough so you can reach it to sit on a desk or table near an outlet, and the cord doesn't easily tangle which is good because that's also been an issue in the past, especially when kids are the ones primarily dealing with it. The price is reasonable for the product, and I would recommend it for classroom use. We just use this at home, as the handheld sharpeners have just been too much of a headache to deal with. The reservoir that holds the pencil shavings is quite large, I didn't expect it to be so big, you will not have to empty it out very often at all. It also comes out easy enough, but not too easy that it will fall out unexpectedly. Overall, good quality product.
