Ultra Violet Solar Salt Where I live we have hard water, and most everybody has a water softener. It's easier on your skin, allows your soap and shampoo to lather better and go further, extends the life of your appliances, etc. We have tried a lot of different brands of softener salts and usually when you go super cheap, you get what you pay for. We usually lean towards the pellets because they take longer to dissolve, so we don't have to fill it up as often but, it doesn't seem to soften the water quite as much. I have enjoyed these crystals, they seem to do a better job softening our water than the pellets that I usually get. One bag should last about one month for an average size family. The cost of this 40 lb bag is a great value and comparable to what I'd been paying for other name brand salt pellets. Ultraviolet harvests this salt from Great Salt Lake and Utah & is all natural. I like that it is ultra clean. Solar salt is harvested from saltwater, being in liquid form, unwanted solids can be filtered out as the sun and wind provide natural evaporation and the solar evaporation process produces a more purified salt containing less insoluble impurities than a regular Rock salt. Whether you should use crystals or pellets a lot depends on the unit that you use. Ultraviolet also makes a pellet. The pellets are recommended for ‘all-in-one' softening units, but again it would depend on the unit that you have. I have really enjoyed the ultraviolet brand of water softening salt. This is all natural minerals, eco-friendly, and made from the USA. I would recommend this brand to everyone. One picture I included shows the salt next to another name brand pellet, so you could see the difference in size.

This product is great. We have an older water softener and it isn't very efficient instead of going with the cheap salt we wanted to try this better quality. I can already tell a noticeable different in the quality of water now. The hardwater we did have is gone. It's been a great product.
