US Civil War Reenactor U.S. Union Army Soldier Large Canteen Sky Blue Wool Cover

Nice little canteen, adequate for its purpose. NOT a reenactor canteen, but a canteen built in the style of a 1858 pattern US Army canteen. Based on actual Civil War canteen, but made of plastic instead of tinplate (no rust, no metallic taste, a little lighter, and much less expensive). Dimensions are smaller and capacity is less (40 oz versus 48 oz). The wool cover is zipped together rather than stitched on (easy to remove & replace for cleaning) and the canvas carrying strap is narrower, shorter and less sturdy than the original. Cork stopper is secure and fits tightly; canteen does not leak and rides nicely on the hip. My only complaint is that one of the three strap retaining loops kept coming off; I had to superglue it on and run the strap underneath the cover.
