I have been using a cordless chain saw which is ok for small jobs. I bought this one because I recently lost several trees to high wind and drought. This saw is nicely balanced and starts easily once you get used to it. The saw cuts through 12- 16 inch Oak and Hickory like a hot knife through butter.
