they were impressively packed in biodegradable Styrofoam pellets to protect the plants. they were in small pots with roots, not bare root, and were leafed out. these are actual plants. my friend had bought me some online before from somewhere else and all of those except one died. all three of these survived and are thriving, and I planted them in 90 plus degree weather. 100% order from here again.
