1966 Mustang - How well do they fit?

These reviews are discouraging. Would someone with actual experience installing these headers in a 1966 Ford Mustang Coup 289 manual, please comment about the fit. Do they bolt right in without modification? What's the ground clearance look like with a stock Mustang suspension?

Doesn’t fit! But seems well built.

Jegs said “this fits my vehicle”. I bought them. These do not fit my vehicle and can’t be used unless I remover the shock towers rendering my car suspensionless... do not buy these if you have a 1965 Fairlane. They don’t fit. Regardless of what Jegs says. On a side note, these headers look well built.

PURE Garbage

Purchased this product last week. After long conversation with JEGS customer service rep about fitment on a 65 Ford Fairlane with a 289. Guaranteed fitment. so after removal of my stock exhaust and manifolds, attempted to install right side header. This header would fit if the engine was on an engine stand. Does not clear framerail by about 1/2 inch on second primary tube. So, after 25 years of repairing and modifying automobiles, I know that long tube headers are sometimes difficult to fit, and require massaging of tubes to clear certain aspects of the vehicles structure. So i massages the primary tubes to clear the engine bay. Once they fit between the cylinder head and spring perch, they do not clear the bellhousing. Very poor quality. I massaged the collector to clear the bellhousing, only to find out that it does not clear the starter. ???????? So the part described will work, if you dont have the engine in the car, a starter or transmission. Not bad. When I contacted JEGS customer service, I was told that because of my modification i cannot return them and basically own a $179 paper weight. Thanks Guys! 100% satisfaction guaranteed! I doubt it. I would not reccomen Flowtech or any other Holley brand for that matter. Its not even about the fitment into the vehicle. The Header is physically not designed to fit the motor or transmission. Needless to say this will be the last time i use Jegs for any purchases.
