An Inexpensive Yet Excellent Product!
The physics behind this dual band antenna are identical to all similar products regardless of name or price. The difference in any lies in the quality of construction and performance . In tests of this antenna against other name-brand models with similar specifications, the Tram 1477 produced excellent VSWR results across both the VHF and UHF amateur bands. It is compact and with the transmission line kept reasonably short, truly extends the capability of handheld radios. It has a slightly smaller outer diameter than the competitor's antennas, reducing its wind loading characteristics. I recommend it.

Have antenna mouted at 40 feet on tower. with quality Lmr400 coax. Highly recommend for HOA applications in attic or such if need be. All signal reportsfar far %26 wide have been very favorable. However I'd recommend checking with SWR Meter to insure lowest possible swr reading. Cammo paint works out great, for outdoors providing a very low discreet profile.
