True All Season Tires

On January 29, 2026, I purchased a 2019 Frontier Pro4X equipped with brand new Toyo Open Country HT2 tires. On January 30, 2026, North Carolina experienced what has been described as a "once-in-a-lifetime event," receiving approximately 17 inches of snowfall, with snowdrifts several feet high. Despite initial concerns about driving during the snowstorm, the truck maintained excellent traction with about four inches of snow on the roadway. I anticipated that travel might be difficult in the coming days (see Photo 1). The following day, I confirmed that approximately 17 inches of snow had accumulated (Photo 2 and 3). Confident in my vehicle's capabilities, I started my journey. Four-wheel drive was necessary to navigate the unplowed roads, but I experienced no slipping. The ABS system did not activate during braking. During my drive, I encountered a lifted Silverado with mud-terrain tires that was stuck. The driver requested assistance, so I engaged 4Lo, locked the rear differential, and successfully pulled him out without slippage, then guided him approximately 150 feet to his home. Throughout the day I was able to disengage the 4wd and maintain control of the vehicle when taking off from a stop, driving, steering, and braking. I am very impressed with these tires and am now a dedicated fan.

My go to tire

Im not a fan of an aggressive tire when I am only off road 1% of the time. Its just silly. The AT tires from TOYO are great and are a perfect all around tire. . But the OPEN COUNTRY HT has been the best truck tire I have experienced. They do great in the snow. The rain isnt an issue at all. They are quiet. Tread life is amazing. I have had the HT on my lowered RCSB Silverado. My Tahoe had the HTs and my current truck has a set of HT tires.

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I had these tires on my 2010 F-150 5.4L V8 put 103,000 miles on them and probably could have got another 10,000 miles out of them if I needed too but winter was coming. I tried very hard to buy them again but they were so hard to find and shops at the time couldn't order more (not sure why) but one place would only have 3 tires a different place only had 2. I was definitely mad about it. The bed of the truck was empty most of the time but I use my truck for a truck so I have hauled bed loads of gravel, towed a 22 foot boat, towed a live stock trailer and many other things a truck can do in 103,000 miles. Tires were phenomenal. Sometimes slick in the rain when accelerating from a stop depending on the road surface but they wore evenly, no cupping, we're pretty darn quiet. Overall rating 10 out of 10. Did not use much off-road except for the farm and had no issues on dry land.
