General Altimax 45's are excellent winter tires, these replaced a pair of General Altimax RT43's....coming in a close second to my previous Goodyear Eagle GT 4's on a previous vehicle. Want a tire that from experience makes your car handle noticeable better, are excellent in the snow of Wisconsin harsh winters and on those summer downpours, get these. End of story

Quiet and smoother than previous tires

This is my first time with General tires; I've used Michelin and Continental before and have been happy with them, but my local service station was going to install General tires, so I gave them a try (but, I bought them over the Internet as my service station was going to charge almost twice what I got them for/installed.) They are quieter than Michelin's and smoother; maybe because they are not rated for the speed that a Michelin is, but this is on a Minivan, for G...'s sake...I'll never drive them at 140 MPH. A good, mid-grade tire that satisfies.
