Confusing sizes

The sizing is way off. A “medium” toddler costume is really infant 0-6 months size (says it on the tag). I’m guessing the large would be 6-12 months but who knows since it’s sold out for Halloween right now. The actual quality of the costume Is good and pretty thick. Kids will still need to wear clothes underneath. My 16 month old (22lbs) didnt like the fabric on his head. The snaps couldnt be fastened bc it was too small.
