I like keeping ice wate near to encourage me to drink more water. This thermos skips the hard to clean sipping spout. Extra long plastic straws fit the spout lid perfectly.; making clean up much easier. I just toss the straw and give it a quick rinse. I do sanitize it; but only when convenient. Haven't used the flat lid yet. But options are always good. I bet it would be perfect for soup when feeling poorly. I could lay in bed, watch movies and sip on soup ... mmm

This cup is fantastic even WITH its Achilles heal. Cold last a lot longer with 72 hours, even keeping ice that long. The hot capacity seems to be it's Achilles heal though.. It tops out with about 4-6 of solid hot time. Regardless, I love its size and the fact that it keeps a beverage ice cold for so long. Makes for a great travel cup.
