These are great for sciatic issues. I prefer the shoulder or joint to the back as they stick on and are perfect for the lower back. They can be positioned easily. The heating lasts longer usually then it says which is a bonus. One has to be careful not to use exactly same spot all the time as it will have a sun burn effect but that goes away quickly
