Have been using a similar pillow (maybe same) since 2004. It is only slightly compressed. I got a second one for our vacation home. And, I bought one for my elderly father who is having neck issues. His issues have diminished but he is still getting used to the pillow.

Orthopedic Sleeping pillow

Product arrived in a timely manner & took several days to fully expand, as indicated in accompanied instructions. The first night I tried it I had planned to change to my old pillow part way through the night but woke the next morning in the same position as the night before. I've been using it ever since. This pillow was a suggestion from a chiropractor & I'm pleased I followed his recommendation.
