School's out. The sun is shining. And something in the lake is waking up.
Anastasia Graves and the Frightless have survived high school, a cross-world conspiracy, and a serial killer. Now, they're ready for the one thing they haven't had yet: a vacation.
The destination is Bellshire, a quaint tourist town nestled high in the mountains. It promises hiking, swimming, and absolutely zero life-or-death battles. But when the group learns of a local legend-an ancient eldritch god that feeds on anger said to sleep beneath the lake-Anastasia starts to get that familiar sinking feeling.
It starts with small things. The water grows agitated and lights flash from the deep. Townsfolk go missing only to reappear at night, drenched with water and shambling through the streets. And for some reason, the sirens in the lake are taking a keen interest in Anastasia.
When the legend turns out to be more than just a story to scare tourists, the Frightless must trade their swimsuits for spellbooks. If they can't solve the mystery of Bellshire Lake, this summer vacation might be their last.
The Frightless just wanted a break. Instead, they got an apocalypse.
