Just make sure the spout lid is completely closed

The bottle itself is fantastic and we have three of them now. The other two we have are straw lids, and I personally prefer that, especially for my 9 year old who uses them, but it is still a great bottle. This is really more "user error" but if the spout lid isn't completely closed and the bottle is on its side, the water will completely leak out. I hate reviews where the product is given less stars because of user not using common sense, so I still think it's worth the 5 stars, but wanted to mention this in case anyone else is getting this for a school-age kid -- just be careful. She loves this lid and has been able to take it to school now that she knows to be extra careful.

the best-protected water bottle spout!

In this "season" of Covid, Flu and RSV, and as a long-time RN, I was particularly focused on finding the safest, most sanitary water bottle lid for my family, and after much research, decided upon the Takeya "spout lid". I love the way the screw-cap completely covers and protects not only the spout itself, but also the surrounding area around the spout! I ordered one for many of my family members and friends, and the feedback has been terrific so far! Keeping an eye for sales, so I can get more, especially for some of my daughter and son-in-law's students (they are both teachers), who cannot afford to get them for themselves. Does Takeya have any program for schools by any chance?

I love it!! I order some kids bottles and got this one for free. I am so glad I did. If i hadnt after using the kids kne I would of come back and buy one for myself. They keep water cool!! J am.just waiting to see if they gey a real red color for kids. I see they have it for a bigger size. Please get the color "fire" for kids. Thanks. I love this product.
