We have cable internet which comes into our house through basement. Which means our router has to be in basement. Our WiFi worked okay but as soon as you walked out onto patio you lost it. With this system it expanded our WiFi and through the house it seems to be a lot better. I didn't even know these existed. I want to buy another one for outside for being in the pool and listening to music. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to expand their WiFi. I also like the feature of downloading the app and setting parental controls and I can always see who is using the wifi. This system gives you complete control of your WiFi.
