Purchased this (based on good reviews) to be used as a range extender. Works great. This now extends our wi-fi clearly and strongly to our 2 teenagers bedrooms which were previously a bit of a weak/dead zone due to the configuration of the walls/halls/closets/cabinets in our home. Two pieces of advice: 1) you WILL need basic knowledge about routers and wifi networks to set this up, but it was quite simple using the directions that came in the box. Matter of minutes to set it up the way I wanted it (extender). I believe they have improved the printed directions as compared to some older reviews of this product. You also have the manufacturer's website and the web in general (Google) to fall back on. Second piece of advice when using as an extender: locate this product somewhere about halfway between your source router and the dead zone you are trying to improve....making sure to have a fairly clear path from the source router to the new product. This ensures that this product picks up a strong signal and then repeats/extends it again. Conclusion: Works great, does what it says, inexpensive !!, looks great, and has multiple uses that you may be able to use in the future. At this price, you may find yourself buying another one for a different purpose !!
