The pan has a pour spout on each side of the pan, and 2 different size holes on the lid edge, small and larger, for draining. Hubby was VERY IMPRESSED with this 3 qt. sauce pan. It also has markings inside for how much water you've put in. I expect long years of use as I've had with my old 3 quart.
