Simple to set up, easy to use

Not an IT expert, so I appreciate the ease of setup. I got the NAS up and running in less than an hour. Adding disks is easy, with no tools needed. File transfer and access is fast. This NAS is primarily a music server. The fan is quiet, even in Cool Mode (more cooling than Quiet Mode.) The Synology Knowledge Center has tutorials that are well written and easy to follow for info on setting up and using the various features.

Easy / powerful mini server

Perfect for a backup/Plex server for my parents. I like how it has an App Store so it's easy to install Plex. Also has containers so I can use it for almost any server-like function. I am using it with two drives and no redundancy… any data we can't lose is saved in a folder that's pushed to the cloud. This is just for on site storage of my dads game camera wildlife pics. If I needed redundancy I'd consider the 4 bay version with RAID.
