I wasn't sure what to expect from this since I've seen so many lighted garlands that look cheap and O-so fake! This arrived in a pretty big box, which was my first clue that this wasn't going to be a wispy, thin, garland. When I unpacked it, the stems were all laid flat for packing, so I spent about 30 or 40 minutes straightening and moving the bendable stems to the position I wanted (the corgi was NO help whatsoever!). Once I had everything fluffed out, I put 3 AA batteries into the control box and tested all 9 settings. Everything worked like a charm! There is an automatic shut-off timer, but I'm not sure how long it stays on -- I'm guessing somewhere between 8-10 hours. We've had it up for over a week now and it's still going strong on those 3 batteries. Everyone who's seen it says how nice it looks. I'm very happy with the purchase! (The door cover was not purchased at Walmart, it's from Amazon) Oh yes, and the corgi was not included -- he came separate! ;-)
