I now have a new favorite Licorice, it's this. I like the spool, it's flat and has a lot of surface for saliva to break down the licorice. Let's clarify, I have no teeth and I do not chew some things to break it down. I have a severe gag-reflex to dentures, I don't use them. So, much of what I eat for snacks gets softened by saliva and the flavor lasts longer and changes from the initial flavor to the resultant flavor slower than chewing and eating speed. And, I consume potato chips, corn chips, crunchy Cheetos and even some kettle cooked potato chips, and so, so much more. Don't get me wrong, I also eat steak, salads, hamburgers, fries, onion rings and just about everything that isn't hard, like apples. Having no teeth has taught me slow down and enjoy the flavor of what I'm eating, like these licorice wheels. These are now my standard licorice over what I had been eating.
