Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone Max Bird Feeder with Flexports, 4 lb Capacity

I received the Perky -Pet - Squirrel- Be - Gone Max Bird Feeder and I really like the design and the capacity amount. I think that four pounds is an good size feeder because I go through alot of bird feeder. My family and I enjoy watching birds so we feed them all year. We always have a good variety aand unfortunately a few months back we also attracted a little grey squirrel who started to have all of his meals from my bird feeders. Don't get me wrong I like squirrels too I just don't want to feed them everyday or watch my birds sit hopefully in trees waiting for him to leave so they can enjoy the food I've put out for them. The design is very smart, having the perches go closed when too much weight is sitting upon them. My little squirrel is quite the acrobat, I've seen him hang upside down to eat from my other feeders so I needed something that could prevent him from eating everything in sight. The perches and lid being metal leaves less chance of cracking or breakage. The only thing I have a slight problem with is the smaller feed falls out sometimes but I have lots of ground feeding birds also so I look at that as having more birds being able to eat at the same time. The heavy plastic tube is resistant to the pecking of birds beaks ( I seen a grosbeak pecking on it trying to figure out how to get feed) and claws from other animals as well. I believe my featherd friends will be happy that they now have a feeder that will not be emptied by my resident squirrel. I think the Perky -Pet Squirrel - Be - Gone Max Feeder would be a good choice for anyone with a pesty squirrel who likes to eat their bird food.as much as mine does.

This bird feeder is heavy duty, sturdy and pretty. There is no assembly, just fill it and hang it. The birds are eating from it and I see no issue with the design for birds. However this was built to keep the squirrels out. Its spring loaded with a weight differential which closes the bird feeding holes. My other feeders the squirrels climb up and hang off, like acrobats. This one gives the squirrel no satisfaction. Great design I definitely recommend !
