BEST DISH LIQUID; no doubt about it

I won't buy ANY OTHER dish liquid except for this one. When "they" say it cleans 4 x better, it is the honest-to-God truth. I allow the dirtiest, greasiest, stuck on food soak in Dawn Platinum for a mere 3 minutes and swoop, with my sponge or cloth, the pots, pans, silverware just wipe perfectly clean. It never fails. The other types of Dawn liquid (2x and 3x better) are good; however, Dawn Platinum is that much better. It would be even better if they combined this formula with the bleach alternative formula. Not only would my dishes and glasses be sparkly, perfectly clean, they would be germ free as well. Dawn Platinum isn't rough on my dainty little hands either! It is the perfect buy.

Horrible odor

This product smells like strong chemicals and the odor lingers on my dishes even after thoroughly rinsing. This can't be healthy! I'm tossing out my newly purchased 90 ounce bottle. Be sure to take a sniff in the store before purchasing so you don't waste your money like I did.

New "Clean Scent" Ultra SMELLS AWFUL!

Dawn Ultra New Clean Scent smells absolutely awful! I've been using Ultra for YEARS, and have been very satisfied. I've read a lot of complaints from other customers who also find this scent overpoweringly terrible, and akin to a cheap perfume. WHY change it? And more to the point, why does it need a fragrance at all? If the product is effective, which it is, there is really no need to add some fake fragrance. There should never be any trace of a chemical fragrance left on clean dishes or hands after washing the dishes! Has this New Clean Scent completely replaced the Original? I certainly hope not!!! I'll have to find a different product!

To remove the scent from your dishes, soak the items in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it, or if they're dishwasher safe, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and directly into the dispenser, then run them through the machine. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out. Additionally, you can rewash your hands with mild hand soap to remove the scent. Your satisfaction means a lot to us, and we hope you'll give Dawn another try. We have a variety of scents if the Original no longer meets your needs, including an unscented version called Dawn Free and Clear, Unscented.
