Good bed but missing info cause additional expense

This bed is more than it is described online. I did NOT expect anything but a footboard and a headboard. Those two items arrived but another package arrived as well, which were the rails. Since the incomplete description (I even called Hilldale Furniture to have them iterate what I would be getting and the CSA said "you have to read your description because we sell many different 'permutations' depending on the company selling our product. So she was as uninformed about her own product as Walmart was) did not include those necessary items, I ordered some separately. Now I have an extra set of bed railings as I used what I ordered vs what came with the bed. The bed is fine, but perhaps because I am not using the foundation that goes with the bed, the bed is tight when I put the mattress on. There is hardly any room for you to insert your hand to arrange the sheet on the mattress. I purchased the kind of foundation that has the birch(??) slats because you don't need a 'box spring' with this kind of foundation, but I miss the "bounce back" that having a foundation under your mattress provides. Sleeping on the hybrid mattress is like sleeping on a pallet..it is soft but no bounce. For that reason, I think I will undo this bed, use the "surprise" underpinnings that came with the bed and reconfigure it for a mattress and a foundation. The bed is beautiful, the color is a beautiful bronze and the surface of the metal is absolutely smooth. The color is matte so it is very lovely but I think my problem is that I should use all the parts that came with the bed vs putting a frame that was separate with the bed. That might loosen up the "smidge smaller than a full bed" feeling I have when I change the sheets..it is really tight to do that. I took fotos to show how tight the mattress is fitting inside the frame of the bed (footboard & headboard) as well as how it is so tight until I cannot squeeze the comforter down between the frame and the mattress at the foot end of the bed.

Color Not As Expected

The bed is pretty, but I am very disappointed with the color. Bronze is a metallic color, so I expected the antiquing to tone down the metallic, but I expected to see a little. The color is so dark a brown that it looks black.
