Sunlite HD Adjustable Training Wheels

I don't like onething under the conections with screws is peeling.

We bought these training wheels because we felt that the price of ~$100 would ensure that the wheels were sturdy and of good quality. They arrived quickly via the USPS, but the box was just in a padded envelope and was thus damaged, so we carefully checked the contents of the box. All of the parts seemed to be there but were loosely packed, except for one item, which was in a small plastic bag. This strongly suggested that the wheel had been previously returned and carelessly repackaged and resold to us. This turned out to be the case. I was able to successfully install a wheel on one side of the bike and it seemed fine. However, the thread on the locating stud for the other side did not screw into the axle. There are two of these (a long and short one) and I needed the longer one, which did not attach to the axle, while the shorter one did. This meant that I had to return the item and was not able to exchange it for one that worked because I had bought it on-line. I suspect that Walmart will just try to repackage this defective items again and sell it to some other unfortunate customer. It looks like a reasonable, but shoddily fabricated item, but I would not by it from Walmart because the probability of getting a defective one is quite high.
