DO NOT USE the device on any area where you may want hair to grow back. Hair removal by lasers or intense pulse light sources can cause increased hair growth in some individuals. Based upon currently available data, the highest risk groups for this response are females of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian heritage treated on the face and neck. DO NOT use if you have a known sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity) or are taking a medication that causes photosensitivity e.g., certain antibiotics such as tetracycline, NSAIDS such as ibuprofen or retinoids such as Accutane and/or topical retinoids such as Retin A. Always check the instructions that come with your medical products to see if photosensitivity is listed as a side effect. Using the Silk·expert device on photosensitive skin could result in skin damage including blisters and swelling. The side effects reported in the clinical trial were: Itchiness – Four subjects experienced mild itchiness after treatment. Slight Redness – This was reported by 1 subject. Mild Stinging Sensation – Five subjects reported mild discomfort following treatment. In-growing Hair – One subject reported experiencing an in-growing hair following treatment. Follicle Redness – One subject reported a red spot at the treatment site following treatment. In all cases, the treated skin returned to normal within 7 days. DO NOT use the device if you have very dark skin. DO NOT use the device if your skin has been artificially or naturally tanned or is burned from sun overexposure. DO NOT expose treated areas to the sun. Wait at least 7 days after treatment before exposing treated skin to direct sunlight. DO NOT use the device directly on the nipples, genitals or around the anus. DO NOT use the device if you have a history of skin cancer or pre-cancerous lesions. DO NOT use if you are pregnant, lactating. DO NOT use on dark brown or black spots such as birthmarks, moles or warts. DO NOT use if you have any skin condition in the treatment area, including psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema, acne, herpes simplex or active infections or wounds. DO NOT use if you are under the age of 18. Listen I have bought so many IPL devices. Which embarrassingly I will admit has cost me so much money but also brought disappointment. This one right here has actually worked. I am black, white, Puerto Rican and filipino. I have light brown skin and thick black body hair. I have only done 1 session on my legs and armpits for 4 weeks and I did get lazy and stop but my leg hairs still haven't grown back in and it's been 3 weeks of not using. I do have little stragglers here and there but you cannot tell at all unless you look VERY close. My armpits do have hair growth but it definitely has reduced and takes a while to grow back. I am definitely going to get back into it with this. And for the ladies who wants to know about the ladies parts down yonder it has worked great (full Brazilian) definitely has some uncomfortable pain at first but you get used to it and has reduced hair growth quite well and can't wait to see the results the longer I use it.

A must have!
I bought this product about a year ago and have been using it religiously and exactly according to the instructions. The effect is real! My legs are clean and smooth everyday of the month and I don't have to worry about shaving everyday or waxing every two weeks. The same is true about my underarms. This device has made my life much easier and is saving me a lot of time that I can spend on more useful activities than waxing! Braun customer service is great too! After some time, the precision head of my device was cracked without even being used. I contacted the customer service and they immediately sent me a new head. I 100% recommend this product.
