SXGA/UXGA Monitor "Y" Splitter cable provides an inexpensive alternative for splitting the video signal from your PC's VGA port to 2 High-Resolution monitors that use standard 15-pin plugs. 75-ohm coax conductors used for RGBHV signals allow for use with monitors with up to 1600 x 1200 resolutions. Perfect for laptops to display on a separate, larger monitor. Use for short distance applications only. For applications that require longer distances and highest resolution, see Tripp Lite B114-002-R, powered 2-Port Splitter, or, B114-0H4, powered 4-port Splitter. Tripp Lite Lifetime Warranty.

just what I needed
needed to connect a monitor outside the room and one inside the room to the same computer so that I could stop switching out the cables each time I needed to update the power point. worked perfectly.

Performance Drop
I was a little disappointed in this product. Tried to hook up a monitor and projector using this device. The signal was successfully split but there is a big performance drop in the two devices. Both screens became distinctly dimmer when both were hooked up. The projector was so dim that I could not use it. If you are using two monitors, then I guess it would be OK if you like a dimmer screen.

This is good for splitting the picture.
This will work for creating two of the same image, but won't work for dual screens as the girl from Radio Shack promised me. I do need it anyway for a project that I am working on.
