troy-bilt 7hp horse .... these are replacing a similar set of tines from reliable about 11 years ago. i use mine in sandy / stony soil often. the old ones were not completely worn out but the price on these was very good so i ordered them. new tines make a great difference when tilling. the tines needed to be ground on an inner shank edge to clear the tine hub ... a bit less than 1/4" deep with a radius to match the hub. the previous set had broken one tine in those 11 years ... which i welded easily and it never broke again. haven't got any miles on this set but i think they'll do just fine. i have 2 mid-80s horses. both were basket cases and cheap. they work great now and i haven't spent more than modest hundreds of bucks relative to new prices. craigslist parts finds took a while but paid off nicely. the second one ... 5hp honda refit ... i use on that sandy gravel in the driveways. i built what i call a 'sandboni' to grade, smooth and weed the drives. been fine tuning it and it works well ... a toothed 4'-6" bar with a sheet steel trailing flap [old fluorescent light fixtures]. the teeth dig in about 1" and the flap smooths the grooves. i adapted a receiver hitch to that horse and can switch to other implements easily

Tiller tines

They seem to be good quality steel. I installed them on a troy built horse 1 tiller. Had to file just a little to get them to fit right yet remain tight on the hub. I would buy another set of these if and when these wear out.
