Standlee horse pill carriers are designed to aid in the dispensing of medications or supplements in pill or capsule form. Place medication or supplement inside the center opening of the pill carrier, then lightly push the medication or supplement into the paste. The First time offering the pill carriers, provide the horse one or two carriers without medication or supplement to condition acceptance. Can be fed to horse like a treat, or just drop into feed.

Place medication or supplement inside the center opening of the pill carrier, then lightly push the medication or supplement into the paste. If the paste has hardened, allow the Horse Pill Carrier to warm to room temperature before placing the capsule in the paste. For the first time offering the Pill Carriers, if needed, provide the horse one carrier without medication or supplement to condition acceptantce. Pill Carriers can be fed like a treat or dropped into the feed.

For at least a year I gave my horse his small pill in a hollowed carrot, but then he start spitting the whole thing out. I had already been giving him Apple flavored Standlee treats so I tried the pill carriers. Romeo likes them! Best pill pockets ever!
My horse gets Prascend twice a day. The problem is, the barn I'm at prepares the morning feed the night before and the evening feed in the morning. So when they would put the pill inside any other pill pocket it would start to dissolve and my horse would smell it and refuse to eat it. The style of this treat which is dry with a little something that adheres pill to the treat makes it not dissolve and he gobbles it up every day. I am so thankful. I know the treats are a little bit expensive but I was wasting a lot of money on Prascend which is way pricier than treats.

Pill carriers great for treat with medications
My older mare has PPID and takes Prascend daily. She loves the pill carriers and eats it as a treat before her meal. I just pop the two pills in which stick to the cranberry filling and then she gobbles it down. My other horse gets jealous so he sometimes gets an empty one just because he's cute!! Easy way to make sure she gets all her meds. I've also used it to give her bute pills as she is very picky about meds mixed in with her feed. She never refuses them and I Love them because it's so easy
