LG NeoChef 2.0 Cu. Ft. 1200W Countertop Microwave, Black Stainless Steel

This is a well-designed microwave, with features that work well. Excellent design features are 'touch-sensitive' keypad, bright lighting, and cooking/reheating programs. 1) Chamber accommodates large casserole dishes, and turntable rests on a well-designed support. Unlike other microwaves, a central peg of the turntable docks into a port making its centering a non-issue, and the 6-points of contact prevent misplaced vessels from tipping the glass turntable. 2) Cooking and reheating programs are well designed, and the sensor heating settings make it easy to reheat a cup of tea, or lunch/dinner. Not having to set time for this feature is a great design. Just press 1 button to reheat a cup of coffee, a bowl of soup or a few slices of pizza; leaves the guesswork out and does not overheat. We do not use this for cooking dishes, but the sensor cooking feature has made it easy to cook-up a few potatoes. 3) The LED lights are bright. However, their location is perhaps the only thing that I would 'tweak'; consider placing a second set of lights on the left so the light is not obscured when placing hands inside to retrieve dishes, or place the LED lights on the back panel, so that they light the entire chamber uniformly. 4) The tune at the end of a cooking/heating cycle is a nice touch; I prefer it to the loud ring in other microwaves. 5) There is one issue I have always had with microwaves (not this model-but all); why do the doors always open to the left. Is it not possible to attach it to the bottom so that it opens like a toaster-oven. This would allow its placement on a counter to be more flexible. Perhaps, this feature is not possible, but if it were-would be worthy of consideration. Overall, a well-designed microwave with a number of excellent and useful features. Seems to be well built. I cannot comment on how well this unit will hold up over time, but our other LG appliances (Range, DW, Refrigerator, and WD) have held up very well over the last 5 years. This stainless steel, 2.0 cubic foot beauty, has to be the biggest microwave I have ever had the pleasure to own. I can place a 13 by 9 inch casserole dish, with handles, comfortably inside. The light during the microwave process is bright enough to see your food cooking very clearly. But the dark panel on the microwave is hard to see in dim light. So no sneaking to warm up some food in the middle of the night unless you turn some lights on. The 1200 Watts is powerful enough to make a perfect bag of popcorn every time. Be careful of the sensor reheat settings, the beverage reheat setting can bring your half drank coffee to a rolling boil. 30 seconds is plenty for a cup of java. This machine is powerful!
