Great English muffins

Hello, I am a huge fan of Thomas English Muffins and have one every morning going on decades. I do have a question though that I hope you can answer here. Some packages have muffins that are easily split, others not so. And there are taste variations too, some packages taste like sourdough, even though not marked. Do these differences depend on where they are made? I like them all anyway, just curious.
