I have a light beige carpet that is 28 years old. This is what I use to clean up unexpected messes. It does not leave a residue after drying. I love it!!! I have used Spot Shot the whole time. We love our cats and dogs who live in our house as well and it cleans up after them along with a suction cleaner. It leaves a clean smell which takes away any bad odors. Just spray it on and use paper towels to soak it up. If there is still any discoloration after that apply more and scrub with paper towel both ways to get soiled carpet fibers clean. The reason I gave it a 4 was because recently they changed to a bigger size and my can still has at least 4 or 5 ounces left in it and no aerosol left in the can. I never had that problem with the 16 oz. can. Wonderful product.
