Moen UT3331 Chrome Manual 3-Modes 2-Handles Shower Valve Trim

I've been a master plumber for 30+ years, did new construction for my first five years, we installed both Moen and Delta, the engineering in Moen was always friendly to the plumber, in fact if you crossed hot/cold you could just spin cartridge 180° and fix problem, doesn't get much friendlier, and Moen was the first as far as I know. This cartridge comes with a cheap plastic sleeve to hold together, I have to assume temperature/humidity effect sleeves effectiveness, as soon as I picked up out of box, entire cartridge fell out in 3 pieces, the very inners have no positive engagement points such as posts and holes, it does not fit itself back together. This may seem a minor detail to the genius engineer, but to someone in the field, this is nothing but a waste of time. After 25+ years of recommending Moen to all of my renovation customers, I will be sliding back up the alphabet on Wich brand diverter, this product has single Handley ruined my perception of the Moen Brand, one job, one product, I can't believe I'm the only plumber that has had problems, tech seemed more than ready to help me put back together, who has time for this on a "bid" job? Not me, engineers have become lazier not better, think twice before recommending Moen, you may find out yourself the hard way, the other company "D" has a very friendly field user product, and is actually 1/3 less $$, good luck to those forever loyal to Moen
