The K&N 69-5321TS Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Kia Optima models. This air intake is designed to replace the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. The 69-5321TS is engineered to significantly reduce air flow restriction, smoothing and straightening air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake for more acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The heat shield included with the 69-5321TS installs right into the previous air box space, helping to keep air entering the intake away from the heat coming off the engine. The smooth intake tube funnels air directly into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crank case vent hose. Not only does this intake help improve performance but it also provides great looks, with a durable silver powder-coat finish on the tube. Depending on driving conditions, the black-topped K&N high-flow air filter that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed. The relatively simple installation uses existing factory mounting points and can normally be accomplished 90 minutes or less. The tools needed are common: a flat blade screwdriver, a ratchet set, and some pliers.
