Spectrum Naturals Organic Palm Fruit All-Vegetable Shortening, 24 oz

I bought this to use as shortening in plant based recipes. It works very well and the composition is very smooth. The benefit is that it works just like shortening, but is healthier.The size is good so it lasts a while, depending on how much you bake. I use it in pie crusts.

It works exactly like crisco does! It may seem higher priced but its a great alternative for that hydrogenated stuff. Its not GMO, its plain palm oil, creamy and measures out easily. I use it in my pie crusts, my choc chip cookies and in my baking where ever shortening is called for. It turns out great results. Where as other brands are red palm oil and add off flavors and changes the texture of your bake goods, this one doesn't, its wonderful! Its white!
