Caveat: The unit really only is a 2 or 2.5 cup max rice cooker. Also, directions are confusing. Fortunately, I have purchased a similar item years ago fm a different manufacturer but it is very similar. Basic rice: rice pkgs say 1 part rice to 2 parts water stovetop. Most rice cookers say 1 part rice to 1 part or maybe 1/1/4 part water. It's up to you to do a test run and adjust the amount of water to have rice either cooked more firm or more fluffy. More water, more plump/fluffy. Do the one part rice to one and a quarter part water as a starting point. It's a great unit for one or two people household; excellent for singles. If you have a larger household, buy the larger 6 cup unit; it's very much close to same price or not much more.

Lil rice cooker

A clearly compact cooking pot, yes it does make 3 cups of cooked rice. The measurements on the pan and cup are accurate. Remember this is a very small appliance, so you know that. I use mine to reheat my prepped food since I live alone. It works perfectly as a rice cooker also. When you plug it in , the warmer light is on, you have to press the button down to cook. You can stop the cooking and go back to warm. And to completely turn it off you will have to unplug it. It does and it has come to a raging boil, remove lid stir and I sometimes put it back on but leaving a gap.

Perfect size rice cooker

Definitely serves one two or three at the most but cute and easy compact. I like it. Only question is why show a white steamer basket in the advertising if you don't receive one with the product because when you look for one by black and decker in that size it's too hard to find.
