These ear plugs are great for sleeping. I've been using this brand for many years and they are by far the best. I sleep at odd hours and need to have complete silence and darkness (I wear eye masks too when necessary). I find that I sleep so much better wearing these ear plugs and highly recommend them to light sleepers who are awakened by noises and don't want to be. The trick is to squeeze them once, turn half way and squeeze again, then roll between your fingers until the part that goes into your ear is very thin. Make sure to put it in your ear quickly, before it starts expanding. As it does, you'll hear the surrounding noises get softer and softer until you can't hear them at all. If it's uncomfortable, you can pull it out slightly until it's just right. CAUTION: I do NOT recommend these for parents of babies and young children because you'll need to hear them during the night. Sweet dreams!
