This CURT class 3 aluminum trailer hitch ball mount features a 2-inch x 2-inch shank and an 8K capacity for towing larger trailers, including utility trailers, boat trailers, campers and more. With class 3 trailer hitches being the most common type of trailer hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs, the class 3 ball mount, by association, is an excellent complement to this trailer hitch and these larger vehicles (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). This particular aluminum ball mount can be used in the drop position to provide a drop of 2 inches, a gross trailer weight capacity of 8,000 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 800 pounds. It can also be flipped to provide a rise of 1 inch. It features a length of 8-1/2 inches hole-to-hole, and it has a 1-inch hole to accept a tow ball. CURT aluminum hitch ball mounts are constructed from solid aluminum. They are strong but lightweight compared to steel alternatives. Aluminum is also naturally resistant to rust and corrosion, promoting long-lasting dependability for your towing system. NOTE: Trailer ball torque should not exceed 250 lb-ft. (sold separately).
