So I had bought a Douglas mattress 4 years ago and in the last year or so, my body has started to sink into it (I'm 120 lbs, 5'6") so not recommended btw! Anyway, they won't do anything for me because I voided the warranty by putting it on my Sealy posturepedic box spring (make sureyou read the small print). So I decided to try a mattress topper to help with my severe joint paint especially around the hips from sinking into this mattress. The pain was so bad, I could barely walk when I first got up! So this mattress topper helped I'd say about 50 %. I think the mattress topper is a better solution to make a really firm mattress more comfy. It's what hotels do (and they use firm mattresses because they last longer... Guess what my next mattress will be!) It does give the bed that comfy hotel feeling! So it's as advertised in my opinion. I did not notice any smell. I didn't have yellow stains although the foam is not all one colour. I assume it is supposed to be this way. The foam is 2 inches (see pictures) but the topper is like people say, like a really cushiony comforter so you could measure at the peak and get the other 2 inches, but just put your hand (or a book) on it and it very easy presses down. So I can see how some people are complaining that this topper is not 4 inches think. I am happy with it though. Overall, I give it 5 stars because I think it does what it's advertised to do and it's not the topper's fault that it can't fix a crappy, saggy mattress. p.p.s I ended up putting some plywood under my Douglas mattress, it is helping about 80% of the pain now with the topper and the plywood

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought the two part pad would slide all over but it stays put, I feel like I'm sleeping in a cloud! It's glorious. The cooling effect is so nice because I get hot at night but has helped so much. It was pretty easy to put on my bed and it expanded in a few hours.
