It is necessary for basic cell function and energy production, particularly in those most metabolically active cells in the heart muscles. Unfortunately, as we age or begin to take statin-type drugs, our CoQ10 levels decline. CoEnzyme Q10 offers you a moderate dose of this essential nutrient, which is also available in 60, 100 and 200 mg vegan softgels. CoQ10 is not intended to serve as a replacement for statin therapy, nor should you discontinue taking any prescribed medications while supplementing with CoQ10.
