My dog is the one who approved this purchase. She LOVES these balls. She's three now and has been crazy for them since she was a puppy. I don't think they smell at all of bacon, but she seems to like it. The scent is there when you squeak them towards your face, but it's not offensive at all and I really don't notice it. This is probably the only toy that she doesn't destroy within minutes, too. They really last a good long while but, of course, the squeaker will eventually wear out. It's just how things are, so I keep buying them. They're a great value, and I have to keep a few around to make her happy. FYI: she's a 60 pound golden retriever. I get her the large ones. They're perfect.
