Microwave Oven: Cook only one at at time. 1. Place pot pie on microwave-safe plate; slit top crust. 2. Microwave on high. 1100 watt oven or more. 4 to 5 minutes. Do not cook in microwave ovens below 1100 watts as pot pie may not cook thoroughly. Conventional oven preparation is recommended. 3. Let stand 3 minutes in microwave to complete cooking. Handle carefully; it's hot! 4. Check that food is cooked thoroughly. Internal temperature needs to reach 165 degrees F as measured by a food thermometer in several spots. Crust is golden brown and steam rises from filling. Conventional Oven: Do not prepare in toaster oven. 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place pot pie on baking sheet; slit top crust. 2. Bake in oven 32 to 34 minutes. Remove carefully; it's hot! it's hot! 3. Let stand 5 minutes to complete cooking. 4. Check that food is cooked thoroughly. Internal temperature needs to reach 165 degrees F as measured by a food thermometer in several spots. Crust is golden brown and steam rises from filling. Keep frozen.

My favorite budget pot pie
This and Swanson are my two favorite budget chicken pot pies. Swanson is hard to find in my area, and Walmart keeps these for $1, so I make sure to keep a couple on hand for whenever I need to make a quick meal for my toddler or my husband needs a snack. I microwave them for 2-3 minutes and then finish them off in the air fryer for a nice crispy crust. Then I open the middle and add in some garlic powder, minced garlic, thyme, sage, and pepper, mix it up, and voila. My guys love it.

Who knows what the meat is...probably reconstituted catfish whiskers. I'm single and this is my go to meal for easy prep with very little clean up. I usually microwave a potato, bake the pot pie, (300 degrees for 34 minutes) and pour the contents over the baked potato. (This recipe is copyrighted Ha Ha !)

Have purchased banquet chicken pot pies for years, great for a budget, one of few brands that have top and bottom crust. Cooks beautifully to golden brown and is flakey with good taste. The filling is really good except i do not like the flavor of the chicken chunks, so i push that aside and share it with one of my yard critters.
