I got this to try over the equate brand that I normally order. It smells nicer and doesn't dry out my hair as much. This stuff is the exact same thing as Shimmer Lights for 1/3 of the price. My hair is a level 8 blond. Think lemon yellow after bleaching. And within a few washes I was a bright ashy blond. I only use it twice a week because I only wash my hair twice a week and use dry shampoo in between washes. It is drying so make sure to use a good protein building conditioner. I love the Elvive line also available at Walmart. And good luck!!!
