Brother HL-L3230CDW Compact Digital Color Printer Providing Laser Quality Results with Wireless and Duplex Printing

As a very light user I was fed up with dried up print heads, hence the Brother printer. I had an early LED matrix "laser" Brother monochrome printer many years ago and it was excellent and served for many years until memory limitations got in the way. This colour printer was relatively easy to set up and connect to the WiFi; OK, the small screen detracts slightly from the ease of setting up the WiFi but not for a relatively competent person who's not a tech geek. In a few minutes I was able to print from my laptop and Samsung S20 phone. Yes, it is quite a large device, but considering the four colours and duplex abilities it's fine and it's construction and solidity inspires confidence. Performance is very good with reasonably quick print times for full page colour and very quick text printing with excellent duplex mode demonstrating good registration. Paper pickup is good but for the alternative input paper needs positive placement and is not helped by only having a small tray. Colour performance is very good for a laser printer with full page block colour showing very little banding and for complex and smaller images it is not noticed. Colour accuracy is also good with a close match to the screen colours and the image remains sharp across the full width and, obviously, no bleed through to the reverse side, meaning duplex printing of colour is achievable using 70g paper. Text is sharp and beautifully defined, even for very small point sizes. Print speed is very good too being near instantaneous for plain text. It is not a racing machine for colour but is still acceptable. At this early stage it is not possible to speak about economy but with my very light use I'll not worry. All in all, this appears to be a very good purchase.
