worth the price

Works great, let's you put in a setting for your humidity and automatically turns off when it reaches that humidity. Also like the ease of removing the water bucket that has a handle tucked into it. Also has a pump and hose if you don't want to use the bucket function.

Were very happy with our new LG dehumidifier!

We've only had this LG PuriCare 2019 Energy Star 50-Pint Dehumidifier with Pump and Wi-Fi dehumidifier for a few weeks but my wife and I are very pleased our latest purchase from LG. Our previous dehumidifier was recalled after it was found to cause fires and we needed to remove it and find a new one quick. In the past year by coincidence we've purchased 2 new LG AC units and an LG TV and we've found them all to be a level up in terms of quality, design, features, and ease of use. I decided to buck the trends toward other manufacturers that I was seeing on some of the internet ratings websites and purchased another LG product and I'm very glad that I did. Again I've found this unit to be a step above the others. It seems as though LG's business model is to look at what the other manufacturers are doing wrong and apply common sense, technological solutions to resolving these old, unresolved mechanical issues that we have all resigned ourselves to living with. For example, our basement gets very damp during the warmer months so we needed a powerful dehumidifier that can keep it dry without having to be constantly maintained and emptied. Using the very easy to understand instructions and the extremely intuitive control panel on the machine I set it up to fill the reservoir bucket first and automatically pump the water outside through the included hose through a small hole just over the sill of my foundation to a spot out of site under my deck. So far this system has been working quite well. It only took 2 days to bring my basement humidity down to 45% and that's with only running the device for 12 hours each day. One of the best parts of the LG products is the WIFI feature that comes installed in many of their devices because I'm able to control all of the devices using the LG ThinQ app on my smart phone. LG approaches this by taking a whole house approach (if you choose to) and show the different devices in the rooms in your house where they are installed. Just about anywhere that I am I can quickly see the state of each of the products with a quick glance at a Home Screen that shows each room and what devices are there. Then you just have to click on the icon of the device and more detail becomes available about its status. So just by checking the app on my phone I can get all of the info that I need on the current state of the 14,000 BTU AC unit in our kitchen, the large UHD TV in our living room, and now this 50 pint Dehumidifier in our basement and I can remotely make whatever change I see fit and those changes will apply as if I were standing in front of each of the devices using the remote controls. It goes without saying that having what I consider to be high-quality, well-engineered mechanical conveniences in the different living spaces of my home that are adjustable with the touch of a finger from almost anywhere I happen to be to be a big advance in the operation of a home and a level up on the competition!
